Eric Hassli vs. Toronto FC – Wonder Goal
The game was rather boring but got much better after about 75 minutes. A few curious things happened during the game. The ref blew the 1st half after 44 minutes. Odd?
But finally Eric Hassli scored a wonder goal and keeps cementing his place in Whitecaps lore. No wonder they chant his name when he isn’t on the pitch, when he comes on and when he scores. It was incredible. The 14,000 made just as much noise as a packed house at BC Place after that goal.
Now hopefully they can finish the job next week in Toronto.

Here is the new Canada Centenary Jersey by Umbro. I have to say that I don’t mind it. I kinda like its throw back feel and blue colour. Maybe I’ll have to pick one up!

I was sad to hear that Adam ‘MCA’ Yauch had passed away last week. I didnt really get into hip hop until after listening to the Beastie Boys. When I think of them, I think of Sabotage! Great music video!!!
After when he created the Tibetan Freedom Concerts, it helped me begin to see music and musician as a voice of change. Plus it didn’t hurt that they had stellar lineups!!!

Lionel Messi Record Breaker
Did anyone else notice that Lionel Messi, who plays for FC Barcelona, has completely shattered the mark for goals in a season in any top flight league around the world. I am pretty sure that he hit is 75th goal in all completitions. That is completely insane and kinda unbelievable. When people tell stories of the year Messi hit 75+, people will think you are exaggerating!
