Alice in chains

I finally got to see Alice In chains after 17 years with al. It was pretty good and we rocked out hard but not as hard as the guy who looked like animal from the muppets in front of me. It wasn’t quite the same without lanye there but it was close second!

Arcade Fire

On sunday it was Phoenix and tonight it was arcade fire. The last time we saw them it was also at the pne and it was five years ago. Actually it was our first date.

Now we have just got back from the show and it was pretty awesome. They play with such energy and it’s so manic on stage. Everyone is playing everything and having fun and pumping up the crowd. At one point one of the guys ran around the arena and was chucking his drum on the ground and jumping around. Crazy stuff! The only thing was it seemed like a bit of a short show. Maybe it was me but ot seemed like it was two or three songs short. But you never ask for too much and what we got was definetly the good stuff. Wish you were there with us to enjoy it!!!

Phoenix

We are watching neon Indian. They ate the opener for Phoenix. I don’t really care for it. It’s bad 80′s music. It’s not that good. I can see why Phoenix would want these guys to open. They ate bad and will make Phoenix sound awesome. More to come…these guys are terrible. I don’t losing some of my hearing for something that sounds awesome. But I have lost my hearing for no reason. Why dd I forget my earplugs?!

The main show is so much better. Phoenix is incredibly tight and play with a lot of energy. The drummer is dominant. Super glad that we showed up for this

Edit. Most epic ending to a show ever! Nuff said!!!

Macca in san fran

Today we went to the de young gallery and walked down haight street. It was interesting similar to commercial drive. But by far the high light if this trip so far was going to see Paul McCartney play San Fran at the AT&T park. Apparently he has not play San Fran in about 40 years. I think the last time he played he was the very last beatles live show.

He was amazing. He played for about 3 hours. Great show. Can’t really say more than that. Macca was on. Great songs. Great scene. It was pretty beautiful seeing him play in front of the San Francisco bay.

I will try to find the set list soon. Highlights were day in the life, live and let die and 1985.

olp the vogue may 14

well it took me a few weeks to finally write about this show. i have to say that i wasnt really expecting much other than to rock to a few of clumsy songs that i knew and a few others. well to my surprise, it was a rockin good time and it was way better than i could of expected.

it was also my first time seeing a show at the vogue. you could tell it was old and a little run down, but it did have some old world charm. its a great place to see a show, especially when the act tells you to stand up and move closer to the stage.

i first saw olp when i was 15 years old at the original commodore and i would have to say that this time it was a close second.

Part one of the show was the tracklist of ‘Clumsy’:

  • Superman’s Dead
  • Automatic Flowers
  • Carnival
  • Big Dumb Rocket
  • 4am
  • Shaking
  • Clumsy
  • Hello Oskar
  • Let You Down
  • The Story of 100 Aisles
  • Car Crash

Part two

  • Monkey Brains
  • Innocent
  • Life
  • Is Anybody Home
  • One Man Army
  • Paper Moon
  • Angels/Losing/Sleep
  • Somewhere Out There
  • All You Did Was Save My Life

Encore:

  • Naveed/Kids (MGMT cover) (interlude)
  • Dreamland
  • Starseed

enjoy a song below!

our lady peace-is anybody home (live)

Sam Roberts Band and Coeur De Pirate

We are in the line for livecity yaletown right now. It’s suppose to be a hour and a half wait to get in. Allison went to get food while I move with the line. A couple skipped the line and just joined infront of us.

Update Allison got food and then they wouldn’t let her back on line. She joined with some ransoms and got in right after me. The arkells are on right now. Not a bad little rock band.

Update 2. We are now watching coeur. She is really fin but kinda slow moving music. Very French sounding. Duh!

Update 3. We met up with my cousins after watching a fun performance by srb. We watched the fireworks and water show, wandered yaletown, settled at the keg for some drinks and to catch up. I would say all in all a great night.

Livecity yaletown

We are watching malajube right now on stage at livecity yaletown. We got in pretty quickly, about a 20 minute line up and were in. There are things to see and music and we watched the awards ceremony. Malajube opened for Matisyahu and he is the reason we came down. Allison loves his Jewish rhymes. Make sure you come out and see the free Olympic stuff!!!

ps…that hockey player is matisyahu at a charity game. he is from brooklyn, i think!
